Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator for a fixed-term contract in Ireland. You will report to the HR Manager and help implement and improve safety systems across the site, working hands-on with teams to ensure procedures, training, and compliance stay top-notch.

Key duties include audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, training coordination, and emergency readiness. The role requires Level 6 OH&S qualification and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Required OH&S qualification (minimum Level 6 or equivalent).
• Experience in a health and safety role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Good understanding of Irish health & safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and improvement of health & safety policies and systems.
• Conduct regular safety audits and follow up on issues.
• Prepare, review and maintain risk assessments and procedures.
• Investigate incidents, record findings and suggest improvements.
• Coordinate and track health & safety training, including inductions.
• Facilitate safety communications and toolbox talks.
• Assist in emergency preparedness through safety checks and drills.
• Maintain health & safety documentation and reports.

Your New Job:

As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you’ll report to the HR Manager and support the implementation and improvement of health and safety systems across the site. You’ll work hands-on with teams at every level to make sure procedures, training, and compliance remain top-notch. Fixed-term contract.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation and improvement of health & safety policies and systems.

• Coordinate and track health & safety training, including manual handling inductions.

• Maintain accurate health & safety documentation and reports.

What Are We Looking For?

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum Level 6 or equivalent).
• Experience in a similar health & safety role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Good understanding of Irish health & safety regulations.
• Experience with risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Organised, detail-focused, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
