Job summary

Glennon Brothers in Fermoy, Ireland seeks a Head of Maintenance to lead the maintenance, engineering and asset reliability function across the site. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will drive safety, reliability and efficiency, guiding preventative and predictive maintenance, planning, and continuous improvement in a high‑volume timber production environment.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with CMMS systems, and a data‑led approach to uptime, cost control and asset

Qualifications

• Senior maintenance, engineering or asset reliability leadership experience in heavy industry/manufacturing.
• Engineering qualification in mechanical/electrical/automation or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation equipment.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and external contractors.
• Experience implementing maintenance strategies (PM, PdM, RCM, RCA).
• Strong CMMS usage including work order management, planning and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead site maintenance and engineering to deliver safe, reliable plant performance across assets.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategy balancing reactive, planned, preventative, predictive and condition-based maintenance.
• Build and coach a high-performing maintenance team with a culture of ownership and improvement.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health, safety, environmental and engineering standards.
• Own and improve CMMS, scheduling, stores control and reporting; manage budgets and external contractors.
