Job summary

HRconsultants.ie is assisting an Irish-owned building-materials manufacturer to appoint a Maintenance Manager for a new Waterford production facility. The role is senior, hands-on, responsible for equipment availability, reliability and safety across site utilities and production assets.

You will develop maintenance systems, manage CMMS, plan preventive maintenance, coordinate shutdowns, drive KPIs such as MTBF/MTTR, and lead contractors while ensuring minimal disruption to production.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in maintenance management in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Experience with shutdowns, contractors and service providers.
• Knowledge of maintenance-related Health and Safety requirements.
• Experience with CMMS or maintenance work-order systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Plan weekly, monthly and annual maintenance activities.
• Coordinate plant shutdowns and major repairs.
• Lead fault diagnosis and equipment breakdown responses.
• Promote safety and maintain permits/work procedures.
• Maintain equipment history and technical documentation.
• Monitor downtime and report maintenance KPIs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and supplier lead times.
