Job summary

Darwin Hawkins is representing a growing Irish technology group in seeking a Head of Finance & Operations to own the finance function and contribute to the commercial direction of the business as it scales. The role requires hands-on leadership across reporting, controls, cash and working capital, and close collaboration with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong experience in a commercial environment.
• Strong cash flow, working capital, margin management and financial controls experience.
• Experience within technology, IT services, hardware, distribution or a similar environment would be beneficial.
• Exposure to acquisitions, due diligence and/or post-acquisition integration.
• Commercially minded with the confidence to engage with suppliers, partners and senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on, resourceful and comfortable operating across both finance and wider commercial matters.

Role and Reporting Lines

Working closely with the senior leadership team and supported by an existing finance function, the Head of Finance & Operations will take ownership of finance while playing a broader role in the commercial development of the group.

• Financial Leadership – Take ownership of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls and clear financial information for senior leadership
• Cash Flow & Working Capital – Manage cash flow, working capital and liquidity across a growing group with significant hardware and supplier requirements
• Commercial Finance – Analyse margins, projections and business performance, providing financial insight to support commercial decision-making
• Supplier Management – Work directly with key suppliers and partners to manage terms, payment arrangements and commercial relationships
• Acquisitions – Support future acquisitions through financial analysis, due diligence and the integration of acquired businesses
• Planning & Forecasting – Develop budgets, forecasts and financial models to support growth plans and provide visibility over future performance
• Finance Operations – Develop financial processes, systems and controls while providing leadership and support to the existing finance team
• Business Partnering – Work closely with senior leadership across the group on strategic, operational and commercial initiatives
