Job summary

Office of Public Works in Trim, Co. Meath, invites applications for an Assistant Secretary – Building Services and Capital Works.

The role supports the Chairman and Management Board in delivering a portfolio of capital projects for the OPW and clients, with responsibility for a new division and ensuring value for money and risk management. The post requires proven leadership of large-scale programmes, extensive experience in capital budgeting, and the ability to drive organisational change

Qualifications

• Experience at senior management level in a large/complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of large capital budgets and capital programmes.

Responsibilities

• Report to the OPW Chairman and oversee delivery of capital projects within the new division.
• Manage procurement strategy to ensure value for money in line with public procurement regs.
• Oversee project delivery against budgets and timescales with design teams, contractors and construction management firms.
• Lead organisational change and collaboration across senior colleagues and staff at all levels.
