Job summary

The Travel Corporation (TTC) is seeking an experienced Group Operations professional to support the efficient delivery of scheduled tour series and bespoke group travel across Ireland and Scotland. You will help manage supplier relationships, itineraries, contracting, and service delivery to create exceptional guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in a tour operator or DMC, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of departmental strategies and service standards.
  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Group Operations department to ensure efficient processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and customer experience initiatives.
  • Coordinate and contract tour guides and other service providers.
  • Distribute reports and updates to hotels, attractions, and suppliers; resolve on-tour issues.
  • Review tour performance and recommend operational improvements.
  • Manage bespoke group travel programmes from inquiry to completion.
  • Coordinate all operational elements for seamless programme delivery.

The Role

The Group Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the efficient delivery of scheduled tour series, custom group travel, incentive programmes and familiarisation trips across Ireland and Scotland. The role assists in the day-to-day management of operational activities, supplier relationships, itinerary development, contracting, and service delivery, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and operational excellence.

What Will You Do?
  • Support the development and execution of departmental strategies, policies, and operational initiatives. Actively promote and represent the company's values, objectives, and service standards across all stakeholder interactions.
  • Assist in leading the day-to-day operations of the Group Operations department, ensuring efficient processes and high levels of service delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Assist in managing the operation of scheduled tour series programmes from departure planning through to post-tour completion.
  • Coordinate and contract Tour Guides and other operational service providers.
  • Distribute operational reports, rooming lists, and programme updates to hotels, attractions, and other suppliers. Monitor tours in operation and resolve on-trip issues promptly and professionally to minimise business disruption and guest impact.
  • Review tour performance and recommend operational improvements where appropriate.
  • Manage the management of bespoke group travel programmes, including quoting, planning, contracting, and operational execution.
  • Coordinate all operational elements to ensure seamless programme delivery from initial enquiry through completion.
  • Manage the quoting, contracting, and operational delivery of travel agent and partner familiarisation trips.
  • Regularly review itineraries and product content to ensure market relevance, operational feasibility, and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update the itinerary builder database, ensuring information remains accurate and current.
  • Liaise regularly with US-based colleagues and other global teams to ensure effective communication and smooth operational execution.
  • Partner with the Accounts Payable Manager to maintain efficient processes between operations and finance functions, supporting timely invoice processing and supplier payments.
About You
  • Ideal candidate would have minimum 5 years experience working in a Tour Operator or DMC and have a strong knowledge of Ireland and Scotland as destinations. People Management skills are required.
  • Excellent organization experience with strong attention to detail, time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management systems
  • Ability to adapt to new technology, learn new programs quickly, and use computers and technology to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Proficient in using Excel to organise, analyse and manage supplier data
  • Understands customer needs and delivers solutions that create a high-quality, consistent experience.
  • Responds effectively to change, adjusting priorities and approach to meet evolving needs.
  • Maintains energy and focus in challenging environments, persisting to achieve results.
  • Ensures accuracy, consistency, and high standards in all work, minimising risk and rework
