Job summary

Byrne Hotel Group is seeking a Grounds, Facilities and Stock Assistant to help maintain the grounds and outdoor areas, manage the stock room, and support daily operations.

You will perform grounds maintenance, handle deliveries, store materials safely, and assist with general duties while complying with health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain lawns, gardens, pathways, car parks and other external areas to a high standard.
  • Grass cutting, edging, weeding, planting, pruning, watering and general garden maintenance.
  • Keep outdoor areas clean, tidy and free from litter and debris.
  • Assist with seasonal maintenance, including leaf clearance, gritting/salting and preparation of outdoor areas.
  • Operate grounds maintenance tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Report any damaged or other external maintenance issues.
  • Assist with moving outdoor furniture, equipment, materials and other items as required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures.
  • Receive, check, and store deliveries of materials, supplies, tools and equipment.
  • Keep the stock room clean, organised and secure.
  • Ensure stock is stored appropriately and safely.
  • Prepare and issue materials and equipment to staff when required.
  • Assist with stock rotation and ensure older stock is used where appropriate.
  • Report low stock levels to the relevant manager and assist with ordering requirements.
  • Safely handle and move stock using appropriate equipment.
  • Support the wider facilities and operations team with general duties as required.
  • Assist contractors and service providers when necessary.
  • Maintain tools, machinery and equipment in good working order and report defects promptly.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, particularly those relating to health and safety.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

Job description

The Grounds, Facilities and Stock Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and general upkeep of outdoor areas, while also supporting the day-to-day organisation and management of the stock room.

The role involves a combination of practical grounds maintenance, general site duties, stock control, deliveries, and ensuring equipment and materials are stored safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance
