Job summary

PHX Ireland, part of United Drug, is seeking a Grocery Key Account Manager to develop and maintain strong relationships with key grocery partners, drive revenue and margin targets, and grow market share across assigned accounts.

You will work with cross-functional teams including marketing, supply chain, sales and finance to implement strategies, negotiate JBPs and pricing, and report on performance to senior management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in key account or sales within FMCG, preferably groceries.
• Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Account management: build and sustain relationships with key grocery partners and ensure high service levels.
• Sales strategy: design and execute plans to hit revenue and margin targets and grow market share.
• Market analysis: assess trends, competition, and customer insights to identify opportunities.
• Negotiation: lead JBPs, pricing and promotions with key accounts to maximise profitability.
• Collaboration: work with marketing, supply chain, sales and finance to support initiatives.
• Reporting: track performance and report to senior management.
• NPD opportunities: identify and secure new listings and category expansions.
• Team leadership: guide 3rd party field sales to meet targets.

What You'll Be Doing

• Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key grocery partners, ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
• Sales Strategy: Create and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets and grow market share within assigned accounts.
• Market Analysis: Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Negotiation: Negotiate annual JBPs, pricing, and promotional agreements with key accounts to maximise profitability and enhance brand visibility.
• Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including marketing, supply chain, sales and finance, to ensure alignment and support for account initiatives.
• Reporting: Monitor and report on sales performance, market conditions, and account developments to senior management.
• NPD Opportunities: Identify & secure new business opportunities either through NPD listings/distribution gains or new category expansion.
• Management: Manage & direct 3rd party field sales team to ensure all commercial & brand targets are achieved.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in key account exc. role or sales within the FMCG sector, preferably in the grocery market.
• Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Commerciality.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
