Job summary

Lucan Golf Club in County Dublin is seeking a full-time greenkeeper to join our Greenkeeping Team. Experience in greenkeeping is essential and you will contribute to pristine playing surfaces and course presentation.

You will work in all weather conditions, maintain soil and turf, and follow safety guidelines while coordinating with the team. A development programme is offered; English language required; Ireland work authorisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in greenkeeping is essential.
• Spray and Chainsaw certification desirable but not essential.
• English language required.
• Work authorisation: Ireland required.

Responsibilities

• Cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi-rough.
• Set up the course, move tee markers, change holes.
• Maintain health and safety on site.
• Repair divots on playing surfaces.
• Hand watering and irrigation of turf.
• Identify and control weeds, pests, diseases.
• Mark hazards, OB and ground under repair.
• Maintain bunkers and renovate worn turf.
• Roll greens with a turf iron.
• Drive a tractor with implements.
• Understand golf course maintenance rules.
• Maintain trees and shrubs.
• Communicate effectively with team and golfers.

Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time greenkeeper to join our Greenkeeping Team, Experience in greenkeeping is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi-rough.
• Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, etc
• Maintain good standards of health and safety for self and others.
• Repairing divots on playing surfaces.
• Hand watering and irrigating turf.
• Identifying and controlling weeds and pests.
• Identifying and controlling turf diseases and disorders.
• Marking of hazards, out of bounds and ground under repair.
• Maintaining bunkers.
• Renovate worn and damaged turf.
• Rolling greens with a turf iron or similar.
• Driving a tractor with implements.
• Understanding the rules of golf relating to golf course maintenance.
• Maintaining trees and shrubs on the golf course
• Communicating effectively to all team members in the venue and golfers on the course.

There will be a full development programme offered to the successful candidate. Spray and Chainsaw certification is desirable by not essential.
