Naas Golf Club in Co. Kildare is seeking an experienced Greenkeeper Mechanic to maintain our fleet of golf course machinery and support daily turf presentation. You will combine mechanical expertise with hands-on turf maintenance to uphold the club’s high standards.

The role requires practical, organised individuals with strong diagnostic skills, a full driving licence and a flexible approach to early mornings, weekends and seasonal hours at one of Ireland's Top 100 courses.

• Previous experience in greenkeeping or sports turf maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with machinery maintenance.

Mansioni

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Greenkeeper Mechanic to join our Course Maintenance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual who enjoys combining technical mechanical expertise with hands‑on turf management in a progressive and ambitious club environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining our fleet of golf course machinery while also supporting the day‑to‑day presentation and maintenance of the golf course.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair all golf course machinery, including mowers, utility vehicles, cutting units and small engines
• Carry out preventative maintenance programmes to maximise equipment reliability and performance
• Perform regular inspections and safety checks on all machinery and equipment
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
• Manage workshop records, service schedules, parts inventory and maintenance documentation
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors and external service providers as required
• Assist with machinery procurement planning and equipment lifecycle management

Greenkeeping Responsibilities

• Assist with daily course setup and presentation
• Carry out mowing and general turf maintenance operations
• Support irrigation, fertiliser and renovation programmes
• Assist with course improvement projects and seasonal works
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental best practices
• Contribute to maintaining the high standards expected of a Top 100 golf course

About You

The ideal candidate will be a practical, organised and self‑motivated individual with a strong mechanical background and a commitment to high standards of course presentation.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in greenkeeping, sports turf maintenance or a related environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining turf-care, agricultural, horticultural or similar machinery
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a professional approach
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and seasonal hours as required
• Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Full Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Level 5 or Level 6 qualification in Greenkeeping, Sports Turf Management or equivalent
• PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Experience using turf management software and associated IT systems
• Experience working within a golf course maintenance environment
