Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Graduate Product Development Engineer to join its R&D team in Burnfoot, Ireland. You will design and develop next-generation busbar trunking systems, work on CAD models, build prototypes, and participate in validation activities to meet international standards.

You will learn from experienced engineers, contribute to product lifecycle activities, and grow in a global engineering organisation focused on innovative power and IT infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Creo or SolidWorks from university projects or placements.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and manufacturing principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of new products from concept through to launch.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks.
• Support prototype builds, testing and design validation activities.
• Learn how to develop products that meet international standards such as IEC 61439 and UL857.
• Work with manufacturing, sourcing, marketing and product management teams to bring new ideas to life.
• Help identify opportunities to improve existing products through engineering change processes.
• Contribute to product risk assessments (DFMEA) and design reviews.
• Maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation using PLM systems.
• Stay up to date with new technologies and engineering best practices.
