Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor in Dublin City Centre to support project and site teams with practical safety guidance and compliance. The role requires a relevant OH&S qualification, a driving license, and at least 1 year of construction H&S experience.

You will implement safety systems, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to safety culture across major residential and commercial projects.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree/diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum level 7).
  • Full Driving License.
  • 1+ years' construction Health & Safety experience.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide H&S advice and support to project and operational teams.
  • Assist with implementing and monitoring the Group Safety Management System.
  • Ensure risk assessments and safety procedures are communicated.
  • Monitor lifting operations, temporary works, inductions, fire safety and emergencies.
  • Support accident and incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Participate in H&S committees and training initiatives.
  • Identify risks to employees, contractors and third parties with appropriate controls.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice.
  • Develop relationships with Directors, Project Managers and site teams.
  • Report on H&S performance and drive safety culture improvements.

Health & Safety Advisor

About the Role

An Irish-owned building contractor operating nationally, the company has a long-standing reputation for quality, building excellence and outstanding customer service. Established over 75 years ago, the business has continued to grow through strong client relationships, trusted subcontractor partnerships and an experienced leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Health & Safety advice and support to project and operational teams.

  • Monitor areas including lifting operations, temporary works, inductions, fire safety and emergency procedures.

  • Identify risks to employees, contractors and third parties and ensure suitable controls are in place.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Directors, Project Managers and site teams.
  • Report on Health & Safety performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's safety culture.
