Job summary

Roughan & O'Donovan in Dublin is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join its expanding energy team on a permanent basis. You will gain exposure to live projects from feasibility through to engineering design, reporting to the energy group director and working alongside experienced engineers.

You'll develop technical skills in substations, underground cables and grid connections, with on-the-job learning and formal training opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and take guidance.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update substation layouts, plans, sections and elevations.
• Assist with underground cable route studies and constraint identification.
• Review maps and drawings to identify utilities and cable routes.
• Assist with grid connection and electrical infrastructure assessments.
• Help prepare technical reports and project documentation.
