Job summary

Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) in Dublin is seeking a motivated graduate electrical engineer for a permanent role within the expanding energy team. You will work on live projects, from feasibility to engineering designs, supporting substations, underground cables and grid connections.

You will report to the Energy Group Director and receive guidance from our engineering team, with access to formal and informal training to develop your skills in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline (Level 8 equivalent).
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update substation layouts, plans, sections and elevations.
• Assist with underground cable route studies and constraint identification.
• Review maps and project information to identify utilities and potential routes.
• Assist with grid connection and electrical infrastructure assessments.
• Help prepare technical reports and route assessment documents.
