Job summary

Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is seeking a motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our expanding energy team in Dublin. This permanent role offers exposure to live projects, from feasibility through to engineering designs, drawings and documentation.

You will support the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects, including substations, underground cables, transmission and distribution networks, grid connections and generation projects, and you will report to the director of our energy

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline (Level 8 NFQ or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and take guidance.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Good written and verbal English.
• Desirable: knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Desirable: knowledge of Google Earth Pro.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and update of substation layouts, plans, sections and elevation drawings.
• Assist with underground cable route studies, including reviewing potential route options and identifying constraints.
• Review maps, drawings and available project information to identify existing utilities and services and potential cable routes.
• Assist with grid connection and electrical infrastructure assessments.
• Help prepare technical reports, route assessment documents and other project documentation.
