Job summary

Health Service Executive invites applications for a General Practitioner in a part-time, specified-purpose post within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region. The GP will participate in GP Training Schemes, provide postgraduate teaching, and undertake organisational duties associated with the scheme.

Applicants must be on the IMC Specialist Register (General Practice), hold MICGP in good standing, and be a Principal in a GMS practice with supervisory responsibility for registrars.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be on the Specialist Register under the General Practice Division of the IMC.
• MICGP in good standing.
• A Principal in a GMS Practice (contract holder or partner).
• Executive power over supervision, workload and responsibilities of the Registrar.
• Minimum of 6 sessions per week overlapping with the GP Registrar with suitable supervision.
• Desirable: Experience in Medical Education.

GP Training Schemes provide postgraduate teaching to General Practitioner Trainees over a four-year training period. Successful General Practitioners will be involved in this teaching along with organisational and administrative duties associated with the Scheme. Before you apply for this campaign, please be advised:

• Applicant must be on the Specialist Register under the General Practice Division of the IMC.
• MICGP in good standing
• A Principal in a GMS Practice (A Principal is considered to be either a GMS contract holder in a single-handed practice, or a partner within a GMS practice)
• Must have executive power over the supervision, level of responsibility and workload of the Registrar. Multiple GP’s from the same practice are eligible to apply. Essential: Will be available for a minimum of 6 sessions per week overlapping with the GP Registrar, with suitable supervision for the Registrar when the Trainer is on leave / not on-site. Desirable: Experience in Medical Education
