Job summary

Health Service Executive invites applications for a General Practitioner in a part-time, specified-purpose post within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region. The GP will participate in GP Training Schemes, provide postgraduate teaching, and undertake organisational duties associated with the scheme.

Applicants must be on the IMC Specialist Register (General Practice), hold MICGP in good standing, and be a Principal in a GMS practice with supervisory responsibility for registrars.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be on the Specialist Register under the General Practice Division of the IMC.
• MICGP in good standing.
• A Principal in a GMS Practice (contract holder or partner).
• Executive power over supervision, workload and responsibilities of the Registrar.
• Minimum of 6 sessions per week overlapping with the GP Registrar with suitable supervision.
• Desirable: Experience in Medical Education.

Responsibilities

• GP Training Schemes provide postgraduate teaching to General Practitioner Trainees over a four-year period.
• GPs will be involved in teaching plus organisational and administrative duties related to the Scheme.
