Job summary

Trump International Doonbeg is seeking a Golf Services Attendant to warmly welcome guests, assist with clubs and equipment, and keep driving ranges and carts ready for use.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, act as starter on the first tee, and help maintain course etiquette while delivering a seamless guest experience. A full driving licence and golf knowledge are desirable.

• Previous experience in golf, hospitality, leisure or customer service is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome golfers and guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist with handling and transportation of golf clubs, luggage and guest belongings.
• Clean and prepare golf clubs to a high standard.
• Wash, clean and prepare golf carts for guest use.
• Provide general assistance and support to golfers during their visit.
• Act as Starter on the first tee, check golfers in and manage tee sheet.
• Monitor pace of play as Course Ranger/Marshall and maintain etiquette.
• Assist golfers on the course and provide information as needed.
• Manage the Driving Range and practice facilities, including balls and cleanliness.
• Operate the golf shuttle service between practice facilities and clubhouse.
• Maintain high standards of presentation across Golf Services areas.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments for a seamless guest experience.
• Follow health and safety procedures and ensure safe equipment use.
• Carry out other duties as required by Golf Services management.

MAIN DUTIES

• Welcome golfers and guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist with the handling and transportation of golf clubs, luggage, and other guest belongings.
• Clean and prepare golf clubs and ensure golf equipment is presented to a high standard.
• Wash, clean, and prepare golf carts for guest use.
• Provide general assistance and support to golfers throughout their visit.
• Act as a Starter on the first tee, checking golfers in and ensuring the tee sheet runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Act as a Course Ranger/Marshall, monitoring the pace of play and ensuring appropriate course etiquette is maintained.
• Assist golfers on the course and provide information or guidance where required.
• Manage the Driving Range and practice facilities, including range balls, presentation, cleanliness, and general guest assistance.
• Operate the golf shuttle service, transporting guests safely between the practice facilities and clubhouse.
• Maintain high standards of presentation across all Golf Services areas.
• Work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure equipment and vehicles are used safely and responsibly.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Golf Services management team.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

• Previous experience in a golf, hospitality, leisure, or customer service environment is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A friendly, professional, and guest-focused approach.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, midweek, and weekends.
• A full, valid driving licence.
• Good knowledge and understanding of the game of golf.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
• Physically able to handle golf clubs, luggage, and other equipment as required.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing a high standard of service.

HEALTH & SAFETY

• To fulfil your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto.
• Knowledge of local and company hygiene, health and safety regulations
• To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.
• To keep your work area clean, tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
• To be aware of trained first-aid personnel on the premises and have knowledge of the location of first aid boxes/fire extinguishers/alarms.
• To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
• To carry out and promote fire and accident drills as directed by the hotel safety officer.
