Job summary

Arista Networks is seeking a software engineer for the Engineering Productivity group to design, build, scale, and operate the systems used by the company’s development teams. You will own projects from definition to deployment and work closely with engineers on tooling, observability, and performance improvements.

Ideal candidates bring a BS in Computer Science with hands-on experience in Go, Python, JavaScript, C++, or Java, plus Linux knowledge and distributed systems understanding.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science with 3+ years of experience, MS with 2+ years or PhD in CS
• Proficiency in Go, Python, JavaScript, C++, or Java
• Experience with Linux/UNIX
• Understanding of operating systems, networking, distributed systems
• Applied understanding of software engineering principles
• Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
• Ability to design a solution and implement features independently and work in small teams

Responsibilities

• Review and contribute to the specifications and implementations written by other team members.
• Design and develop features, feature tests and solutions; fix bugs and refactor code as needed.
• Work with Arista’s software engineers to identify bottlenecks and limitations in our workflows, tooling, and infrastructure and provide fixes for those problems.
• Provide support for our tools and infrastructure to Arista’s development team.
