Job summary

Jobtailor in Ireland is offering an internship focused on Go development within a Kubernetes-based software product. You will contribute to secure software supply chains, participate in agile ceremonies, and work on build pipelines, tests, and policy compliance.

You will collaborate with a distributed team and contribute to open source projects such as Sigstore. The program expects full-time availability January through August 2027, with strong English skills and prior OSS experience.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship.
• Must be able to join full time from January through August 2027.
• Working knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) tooling and processes.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and software containerization.
• Experience with Go programming.
• Ability to work with a globally distributed team of engineers, managers and other team members.
• Prior experience in open source software projects.
• CV should clearly outline education, relevant projects, GitHub account, and extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute Go code to software services used in customers’ secure software supply chains
• Participate in agile sprint planning, release retrospectives, and weekly standups
• Work on production build pipelines, tests, and policy compliance
• Participate in the upstream Sigstore community
• Collaborate with other engineers as needed
• Develop new features
• Address existing defects
• Expand, automate, and streamline build and release pipelines
• Improve the quality of a Kubernetes-based software product
