Job summary

Orion Group Life Sciences is recruiting a Sample Management Technician for a multinational biopharmaceutical client in Carlow on an initial 11-month contract. The role supports QC with sample handling, LIMS-based tracking and compliant documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a science degree and GMP exposure, with strong data integrity and cross-functional teamwork skills. Day shift 7:00–15:30 and a focus on continuous improvement and regulatory compliance are central to this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in science, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or related discipline.
• Experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical/biotech lab environment.
• Knowledge of cGMP, GDP and quality systems.
• Experience using LIMS or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, label, track and manage biological, environmental and manufacturing samples in line with GMP.
• Maintain sample chain of custody and sample integrity across receipt, storage, distribution and disposal.
• Coordinate sample distribution to QC labs to support testing schedules and product release.
• Manage sample inventory in LIMS and other tracking systems with accurate documentation.
• Monitor storage locations and environmental conditions for compliance.
• Support management of documentation, data entry and record reviews.
• Participate in investigations relating to discrepancies and deviations.
• Generate and review sample management metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Support laboratory audits and inspections with inspection-ready records.
