Job summary

PSC Biotech Corporation in Ireland is seeking a Sample Management Technician to join the Quality Operations Laboratory. You will log, label, track and manage biological, environmental and manufacturing samples in accordance with GMP procedures, ensuring chain of custody and data integrity.

The role supports QC testing, sample distribution, and inventory management within LIMS, working with cross-functional teams to maintain timely product release and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in science/biotech/pharma.
• Experience in GMP-regulated pharma or lab settings.
• Knowledge of cGMP, GDP and quality systems.
• Experience using LIMS and electronic tracking systems.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Attention to detail and data integrity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with deviation management and investigations.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, label, track and manage samples per GMP site procedures.
• Maintain sample chain of custody and ensure sample integrity.
• Coordinate sample distribution to QC laboratories for testing.
• Manage sample inventory in LIMS and other systems.
• Monitor storage locations and retention inventories for compliance.
• Work with Sample Management Lead and ensure safety and GDP requirements.
• Ensure adherence to global policies and regulatory requirements daily.
• Support timely receipt, processing and dispatch of samples as needed.
• Complete sample management documentation and data entry accurately.
• Participate in investigations of discrepancies and deviations.
• Generate and review sample management metrics for continuous improvement.
• Participate in QC Tier 1 daily meetings and communicate priorities and risks.
• Peer-review sample management records for data integrity.
• Support lab audits with compliant documentation.
• Drive improvements using root cause analysis tools where applicable.
• Assist with laboratory consumables and inventory as required.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
