Job summary

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a Lab Services Technician for a 12-month contract role in Ireland.

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, support Biologics Centre of Excellence studies, and ensure a safe, efficient lab environment. Responsibilities include preparing buffers, verifying pH and conductivity, completing safety training, and coordinating with Manufacturing and VQC teams.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of laboratory housekeeping experience in GMP environment.
• NCEA certificate or related qualification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use computer effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day lab operations and ensure timely support for Biologics Centre of Excellence lab studies.
• Prepare buffers, media and cleaning solutions and verify pH, conductivity, osmolality as required.
• Complete required BPD and safety Risk Assessment training.
• Support lab-based study requests from Manufacturing and VQC.
• Perform bio-hazardous waste inactivation.
• Clean laboratory equipment and maintain calibration checks.
• Maintain sample tracking systems and freezer management.
