Job summary

Barden | B Corp in Cork seeks a VAT Accountant to join a small, experienced team within a multinational group. The role centers on VAT and indirect tax, with ledger management, period-end close, and ERP troubleshooting as core responsibilities.

You will work closely with auditors and tax authorities, contributing to a continuously evolving control environment and leveraging Excel and ERP systems to deliver reliable financial data.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or tax consultant.
• Multinational experience or hands-on experience from an accounting firm.
• Comfortable with ERP systems (Oracle Financials or similar); strong Excel skills.
• A 'solutionist' mindset - curious, keen to connect the dots beyond processing.
• Initiative and enthusiasm with genuine interest in the wider business.

Responsibilities

• Support VAT and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Help resolve day-to-day system and process issues, working with IT and other teams.
• Build strong relationships with auditors and tax authorities as a key contact.
• Get involved in improving processes and controls as the function evolves.
