Job summary

Concern Worldwide in Ireland seeks a Global Technical Adviser - Humanitarian Protection to lead protection programming and GBV prevention across humanitarian and development contexts, emphasizing survivor-centered approaches.

You will provide technical guidance to country teams, build capacity, and strengthen safeguarding, data protection, and accountability to affected populations while coordinating with partners, donors, and global forums.

Qualifications

• Degree in gender studies, social sciences, international development or related field with knowledge of GBV standards.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in GBV programming in humanitarian contexts.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills in French and English.
• Proven experience in programme design, donor engagement and providing technical advice.
• Ability to work in complex and insecure environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for global protection programming, focusing on GBV prevention and response.
• Guide country teams on protection programming across humanitarian and development contexts.
• Promote gender-transformative approaches and safeguarding in operations.
• Lead design and quality assurance of programmes, ensuring survivor-centered approaches.
• Strengthen GBV risk mitigation across sectors and ensure CHS-aligned practices.
• Build staff and partner capacity through training and mentoring.
• Represent Concern in global GBV and protection coordination forums and engage with donors.
