Job summary

Trócaire in Maynooth invites applications for an experienced Humanitarian Advocacy Advisor. The role focuses on analyzing humanitarian policy issues, developing advocacy strategies, and working with partners to press for locally led, gender-responsive solutions in emergencies.

You will engage with UN, EU and Irish decision-makers, coordinate with country programmes, and report to the Head of Policy and Advocacy. The role is based in Maynooth, Ireland, with hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ policy analysis and advocacy experience in humanitarian, development and/or human rights.
• Experience developing and implementing effective advocacy strategies.
• Proven track record in advocacy and lobbying at UN, EU or Irish level.
• Policy development experience with a strong gender lens.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective advocacy for humanitarian priorities.
• Collaborate with staff to craft an advocacy strategy aligned with best practice and gender analysis.
• Ensure policy is informed by country programme experience and localisation ambitions.
• Engage with UN, EU and Irish duty bearers through ongoing advocacy.
• Provide policy materials, briefing papers and advocacy reports.
