Job summary

Kuehne & Nagel in Ireland is seeking a Sea Logistics Operations Expert to coordinate international sea freight shipments from booking to delivery, ensuring high service levels and customer satisfaction.

You will monitor shipments, liaise with carriers and internal teams, prepare shipping documentation, and support continuous improvements in logistics processes while complying with regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sea freight forwarding, international freight operations or logistics.
• Good working knowledge of international import/export shipping processes.
• Understanding of freight documentation and transport operations.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Experience using freight forwarding or transport management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end movement of international sea freight shipments from booking to delivery.
• Monitor shipment progress and ensure milestones are achieved within service levels.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight partners, customs brokers and internal teams.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation and operational records.
• Update freight management systems with accurate shipment data.
• Coordinate transport schedules to support efficient supply chains.
• Investigate delays and errors, implementing corrective actions.
• Support freight claims administration and resolve issues affecting shipments.
• Prepare operational performance reports and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain regular customer communication on status and requirements.
• Collaborate across departments to meet customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, and safety standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operations.
