Job summary

Vertiv in Ireland seeks an EPMS + Automation – Systems Engineer to design, implement and maintain PLC and SCADA systems for complex projects. You will work with software engineers, electrical engineers and project managers to ensure reliable, scalable automation solutions that meet customer and industry standards.

The role requires programming PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider), configuring SCADA, and traveling internationally for commissioning and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Eng., Software Eng., Automation or related field.
• Proficiency in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block.
• Experience with SCADA platforms such as Ignition, Wonderware, or GE iFIX.
• Knowledge of Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA protocols.
• Ability to manage projects from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate PLC programs with SCADA systems for automation projects.
• Prepare PLC control sequence flow charts and IO tag databases.
• Develop and program PLC systems using Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider platforms.
• Configure and deploy scalable SCADA systems with a focus on reliability.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate requirements into specs.
• Troubleshoot and maintain systems to minimize downtime.
• Document configurations, diagrams, and system updates per standards.
• Provide training and technical support to end-users.
