Viatris in Galway, Ireland, is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead day-to-day pharmaceutical manufacturing activities at Inverin and Casla sites. You will shape engineering strategy, manage CAPEX, and drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality, compliance and reliable supply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Engineering.
• PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• 15+ years in sterile manufacturing in senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement engineering strategies aligned with business goals.
• Lead large-scale capital projects, including new facility construction, expansions, and equipment upgrades, with CapEx budget management.
• Oversee process development, technology transfer, and automation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HPRA, FDA, GMP, cGMP, ISO and regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols.
• Partner with Quality, EHS and Regulatory teams for safety and compliance.
• Collaborate to optimize HVAC, cleanrooms, water treatment and aseptic systems.
• Drive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites worldwide.
• Mentor talent through training and succession planning.
• Oversee budgets, cost control and ROI on CapEx.
• Identify and mitigate risks in production, supply chain and facility operations.
• Promote RCM strategy using FMECA/FMEA and data analysis.
