Job summary

ICON is seeking a Global Logistics Specialist to optimize the movement of clinical trial materials, samples and kits across international networks. You will work with regional teams, couriers and laboratories to design logistics strategies and drive compliant, cost-effective operations.

Ideal candidates bring pharma/logistics experience, strong data skills and a readiness to travel ~10%. The role supports global studies and sponsor accounts, aligning with ICON procedures and regulatory

Qualifications

• Strong relevant logistics or supply chain experience.
• Experience within medical/pharma/healthcare or life sciences industry, especially clinical trials is a plus.
• Strong understanding of international transportation, courier operations, import/export processes, customs requirements and global networks.
• Experience with logistics providers, couriers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using logistics data and performance measures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• A tertiary qualification in Logistics or related discipline preferred.
• Willingness to travel around 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist logistics support and oversight across global clinical trial studies and sponsor accounts.
• Support study start-up activities including logistics requirements and courier setup.
• Oversee transportation of clinical samples and study materials domestically and internationally.
• Navigate complex import/export and customs requirements with regional teams and brokers.
• Monitor courier performance, service levels and trends to identify risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Act as logistics SME to resolve transport, courier, customs and operational issues.
• Build relationships with couriers, labs and stakeholders to meet study needs.
• Use data and KPIs to identify trends and develop actionable recommendations.
• Support sponsor inquiries and client discussions on logistics capabilities and performance.
• Drive process improvements and global standardization of logistics activities.
• Share knowledge with regional teams to strengthen global logistics capability.
• Ensure documentation and activities comply with regulations and ICON procedures.
