GOAL Global in Ireland seeks part-time freelance facilitators to deliver Global Citizenship Education workshops for primary students and at public events across Ireland. Roles are flexible, with about 25 days of work planned for 2027 in Dublin and Louth/Meath, and potential for extra days.

Competenze

• Completed or currently undertaking a relevant training/qualification in Primary/Post-Primary teaching and/or education and/or development education and/or facilitation or another related field.
• Experience delivering programmes/workshops with lesson planning, active learning, and assessment.
• Experience with children aged 4-12.
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of global citizenship education and related topics.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven organisation and time management skills.
• Full clean driving licence and access to own car within 50km of schools.
• Experience of teaching global citizenship education topics.
• Experience of using drama-based methodologies.
• Knowledge of national curricula and education trends.
• Commitment to GOAL and international development work.

GOAL Global is a humanitarian response agency, established in Ireland in 1977. GOAL works with highly vulnerable communities across the world, to help them respond to and recover from humanitarian crises. GOAL assists these communities to strengthen their local systems and build solutions to lift them out of poverty and vulnerability. GOAL is currently active in 12 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to deliver GOAL’s innovative global citizenship education workshops for young people in primary schools and at public engagement events throughout Ireland. These roles are part-time, freelance positions with a great deal of flexibility in the days successful candidates will work.

Positions are available in the following locations:

• Dublin
• Louth/Meath

Facilitators will initially work approx. 25 days from January to December 2027 with the opportunity to do additional days.

Key duties and responsibilities

• To facilitate GCE workshops in primary schools based on GOAL’s Global Citizenship Educational resources.
• To assess, evaluate, and report on participants’ learning.
• To engage in training and CPD.
• To aid the development of new resources by piloting them and giving feedback.
• Administrative duties including liaising with schools/teachers, distributing and collating surveys, submitting reports, invoicing and expenses.
• Opportunities to facilitate workshops and outreach to youth and the wider public at youth centres and community organisations depending on availability and interest.
• Opportunities to engage with the public on GOAL’s work at public engagement events and campaigns depending on availability and interest.

REQUIREMENTS

• Completed or currently undertaking a relevant training/qualification in Primary/Post-Primary teaching and/or education and/or development education and/or facilitation or another related field.
• Experience of delivering programmes/workshops of learning, including an awareness of lesson planning, engaging with active learning methodologies and assessment.
• Experience of working with children aged 4-12.
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of and interest in global citizenship education and related topics.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven organisation and time management skills.
• Full clean driving license and access to own car and ability to travel to schools within a 50km radius.
• Experience of teaching global citizenship education topics.
• Experience of teaching drama or use of drama-based methodologies.
• Knowledge of national curricula, developments, and trends in education sector.
• Commitment and interest in the work of GOAL and/or international development and humanitarian sector broadly.

Rates: €210 daily rate / €35 per hour (based on a 6-hour day) in line with Primary Substitute Teacher daily rates

Training: A paid training event will take place, date TBC
