Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a German-speaking Technical Support Engineer for Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) based in Ireland. You will deliver front-line remote technical support, diagnose complex IT issues, and collaborate with European customers and the Global Service Desk.

The role requires 2+ years in OS and system administration, strong networking knowledge, and fluency in German and English. Occasional shifts, on-call, and 24x7 support are part of the role.

Qualifications

• University education (preferably a technical degree) or relevant Microsoft certifications.
• 2+ years of experience in OS and system administration (UNIX/FreeBSD, Linux, Windows, VMware).
• Strong knowledge of networking and file-serving protocols (TCP/IP, NFS, SMB, iSCSI, HTTP, FTP).
• Fluency in German and English with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues by applying systems analysis and advanced troubleshooting across customer environments.
• Communicate and document effectively with stakeholders, manage caseload priorities, and set clear expectations.
• Build knowledge by contributing technical articles and mentoring peers, and participate in self-service content.
• Develop subject matter expertise by learning new technologies and coaching others.
• Support a 24x7x365 operation with shift work, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities.
