Job summary

Arup is seeking a Work Placement geoenvironmental scientist/engineer to join our Ground Engineering team in Cork or Dublin, Ireland. You will assist with geological, geoenvironmental, hydrogeological and geotechnical tasks on multidisciplinary projects across Ireland and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Geological, geoenvironmental, hydrogeological and geotechnical desk studies, site assessments and development of conceptual site models.
• Planning and interpretation of ground investigations, including drilling, trial pitting, rock coring, geological logging, and soil and water sampling.
• Assessment and interpretation of geochemical data to determine impacts on land and water quality.
• Review options for the sustainable use of soils and stone during construction projects.
• Groundwater contaminant transport modelling to assess need for remediation or assessing reuse impacts.
• Preparation of technical reports, geoenvironmental assessments, and environmental documentation.
• Geoenvironmental input to EIARs and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborating with specialists from other disciplines for integrated engineering solutions.
• Attending project meetings and communicating with colleagues, project partners, contractors, regulators and clients.
