Job summary

Job description

We are seeking a General Operative - Facilities to join our team in Limerick, Ireland. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining and supporting our facilities operations. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, and professional, ensuring our workplace remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for all staff and visitors.

THIS IS A FIXED TERM CONTRACT

• Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the facilities, including offices, communal areas, and external spaces
• Operate and maintain facilities equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and health and safety regulations Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify maintenance issues and report them promptly to the facilities management team Manage waste disposal and recycling procedures in compliance with environmental and organisational standards
• Support grounds upkeep activities, including landscaping and outdoor area maintenance Respond to emergency situations and follow established health and safety protocols Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities and equipment servicing Assist the facilities team with ad hoc projects and tasks as required Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and organisational policies at all times

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance, cleaning, or a similar operational role (desirable) Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety Excellent time keeping and reliability with a professional approach to work Good communication and people skills to work effectively within a team environment
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy items safely Solid understanding of health and safety practices and procedures Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision Willingness to undertake induction training and ongoing professional development Health and Safety certification or willingness to obtain (desirable)
• Experience operating facilities equipment or machinery (desirable)
