Job summary

• Experience in a similar general operative/building maintenance role.
• Able to carry out basic maintenance and repairs.
• Good understanding of English (written and spoken).
• Aware of health and safety requirements in a facilities environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on building fabric and assist with equipment maintenance.
• Assist engineering team with maintenance tasks and on-site repairs.
• Ensure that contractors and staff comply with health & safety standards.
• Perform reactive repairs to desks, furniture, doors, walls and fittings as needed.
• Maintain records of inspections and activities in line with good practice.

At Apleona, We are always on the lookout for talented and dynamic individuals to join our team. We are currently recruiting for a General Operative to attend one of our units in Dublin 4

Working pattern Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Main duties and responsibilities

• To carry out planned preventative maintenance on all building fabric under our control as per the Plant CMMS / CAFM system
• Assist the engineering team to carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control
• Ensure that all contractors and staff are H&S compliant
• Property & Facility related inspections and maintain appropriate records in line with Good Practice requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and Good Practice
• Maintain an internal 'Best Practice' regime and encourage continuous improvements
• Reactive cover for repairs to desks, windows, walls and doors etc.
• Regular site walks to determine areas that require renovation attention, meeting room layouts for events
• Liaise with the service desk / Team Lead and respond to all non-technical queries in a timely manner
• Carry out reactive tasks that will enable repairs to building fabric
• Assist with the moving of plant and equipment as deemed necessary by the client
• Fabric maintenance, including painting and decorating, door furniture, office furniture etc
• Assist subcontractors to allow them to carry out their tasks, for example, signing in, work permits and showing to area
• Reporting of any out-of-place findings to the client and Team Lead
• Assist with the writing of procedures
• Ensure any training deemed necessary by your line manager is completed within the agreed timeframe
• Take on ad hoc projects from time to time as deemed necessary by the Client and/or Team Lead

Qualifications and experience

• Previous experience in a similar position and environment
• Previous experience working in a building services maintenance role
• Must be physically fit
• Good understanding of English both written and verbal
