Barry Group is seeking a General Operative to join our Warehouse Team on a full-time basis in Mallow, Co. Cork. The position offers 39 hours per week at Barry Group Head Quarters.

Responsibilities include handling stock, order picking, packing, and loading for delivery, while maintaining health, safety, and HACCP standards. The ideal candidate has warehouse experience and a strong focus on customer service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle goods/stock to improve efficiency and customer service.
• Move stock through the Supply Chain from Goods Inwards to Delivery.
• Operate a scanner and a motorised truck.
• Ensure accurate picking and correct batch/date rotation.
• Build stable pallets to meet specs and optimize loading.
• Assist in overall warehouse operations.
• Adhere to health, safety, HACCP, and waste policies.
• Assist with ad-hoc duties as needed.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic General Operative to join our Warehouse Team on a full-time basis at Barry Group.

The position will be 39 hours per week and will be based in Mallow, Co. Cork, at Barry Group Head Quarters.

Role Purpose

• The role requires you to handle goods/stock in a manner that will improve the company’s efficiency and result in outstanding customer service.


• The work involves handling stock through the Supply Chain, from Goods Inwards, Replenishing and Merchandising, Order Picking, Wrapping Stock and Loading for Delivery.


• All employees in the Warehouse have responsibility for implementing and maintaining the rules, regulations and policies as defined by the Company on an ongoing basis.

General Duties Responsibilities

• Operate a scanner and a motorised truck.


• Ensure that product is picked to correctly meet order requirements and is rotated correctly with reference to batch numbers and dates.


• Ensure that picked pallets are built in a stable manner to meet customer specifications, to avoid damage in transit and allow optimum truck loading.


• Assist in the overall operation of the warehouse.


• Ensure all quality, hygiene and health safety policies are adhered to including manual handling practices.


• Comply with all health safety procedures.


• Be aware of HACCP requirements and ensure that they are fulfilled (cleaning policy).


• Carry out the Company’s Waste Management Policy.


• Assist in any ad-hoc duties where necessary.
