General Manager — Multi-Company Platform

Location: Ireland | Sector: Technical & Safety-Critical Systems

The Opportunity

A well-established, acquisitive European group is seeking a General Manager to lead one of its Irish platforms — a multi-company business with significant scale and ambitious growth plans.

This is a senior leadership role with full commercial accountability: leading a group of experienced Managing Directors as one team, owning the multi-company P&L, and driving the platform to its next stage of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will:

• Lead several established trading companies as a single, high-performing platform
• Own commercial performance, forecasting, margin discipline and capital allocation
• Drive adoption of a single digital operating platform across every business
• Standardise processes, pricing discipline and service delivery
• Lead the sales strategy, with a particular focus on growing recurring revenue
• Identify, evaluate and integrate acquisition opportunities
• Champion a best-in-class safety, quality and workplace culture

About You

This is not a role for someone who manages from a spreadsheet. You earn followership from experienced operators rather than asserting it. You read situations and people quickly, run the business on a small set of clear numbers, and set a higher bar for yourself than for anyone else.

You will bring:

• 5+ years in a regulated, safety‑critical or technical systems sector
• 5+ years leading a multi‑site or group structure at GM or equivalent level
• Demonstrable P&L ownership at scale
• Strong technical aptitude and command of regulation and standards
• A track record of building and holding to account a senior leadership team
• M&A integration and major‑account management experience
• Excellent communication skills — written, with clients, and in front of a workforce

A degree in business or engineering, a lean/operational excellence background, and experience driving a digital operating platform across multiple businesses would all be advantageous.
