Job summary

State Street in Kilkenny, Ireland, seeks an AVP to design scalable, secure, business-aligned Cloud/Data/AI architectures spanning AWS, data platforms, cybersecurity, and AI domains. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Mid-level experience designing or delivering cloud, data, application, analytics, cybersecurity, or AI-enabled solutions in an enterprise.
• Strong knowledge of AWS architecture concepts, cloud-native services, networking, security, identity, data services.
• Practical understanding of modern data architecture: pipelines, modeling, governance, lineage, and governed consumption.
• Knowledge of GenAI and AI patterns including LLM design, RAG, vectors, agentic workflows, orchestration, and responsible AI principles.
• Ability to incorporate cybersecurity and risk requirements into technical designs with secure access, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
• Strong communication to explain options, risks, and recommendations to engineers, product owners, and governance forums.
• Experience creating architecture documentation, diagrams, narratives, implementation guidance, and decision records.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures that integrate AWS, data platforms, apps, AI, cybersecurity, and workflows.
• Translate requirements into reference designs, roadmaps, and implementation guidance.
• Develop GenAI/LLM approaches including RAG, prompts, retrieval, and AI orchestration.
• Collaborate with data teams to design scalable ingestion, transformation, governance, and lineage.
• Embed secure-by-design principles, identity/access controls, logging, and data protection into designs.
• Create architecture artifacts: diagrams, data flows, and executive-ready summaries.
• Evaluate options, balance scalability, cost, resiliency, security, and time-to-value.
• Support delivery teams with reviews, POC work, planning, and transition to engineering.
• Contribute to enterprise standards, guardrails, governance, and reusable patterns.
