Job summary

Yuno Energy is expanding its All-Island Gas Shipping & Energy Trading capability in Ireland. The role supports senior management, trading desk operations and analytics to optimise gas and electricity trades, nominations and hedging strategies.

You’ll build automated tools, data pipelines and dashboards using Python, SQL and Power BI, with strong time-series and ML evaluation for forecasting. The position offers progression within a growing energy trader.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, data science, maths, physics, engineering, energy, economics, finance or business.
• Strong Python, SQL and Power BI skills for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with Git and version-control workflows.
• Experience building data pipelines and handling large data volumes.
• Experience with time-series modelling and ML evaluation, with backtesting and metrics.
• Good understanding of natural gas markets and Irish energy markets.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and able to work under time pressure.
• Self-starter, proactive, collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Support senior management in developing Yuno's All-Island Gas Shipping & Energy Trading capability and related trading operations.
• Participate in gas and electricity trading desk activities, optimise prompt/day-ahead positions and reduce daily costs.
• Manage gas nominations, capacity bookings and scheduling to avoid overruns.
• Prepare and present monthly trading KPIs and performance reports; develop forecasting tools.
• Help formulate and review gas trading and hedging strategies across customer exposures.
• Assist with gas tariff reviews for supply-side operations and market condition analysis.
• Execute forward trades in electricity, gas, carbon and environmental certificates with approvals and collateral in place.
• Analyse regulatory changes and identify new business opportunities, including vertical integration.
• Develop and maintain internal systems, data pipelines and automation for trade reconciliation and workflows.
