We are seeking an experienced Director of Fund Operations & Fund Control to join our growing Fund Platform team.
The role combines fund control, operating model design, service provider management and strategic project delivery. You will play a key role in scaling S64's platform, leveraging technology, automation and AI-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency, risk management and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Control & Financial Oversight
- Own oversight of fund accounting and financial reporting across a range of private markets structures.
- Oversee capital activity including subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls and distributions.
- Review fund NAVs, trial balances, cash positions and operating budgets to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
- Oversee transaction flows from investor subscription through to deployment into underlying investments.
- Lead interactions with fund administrators, auditors and other financial service providers.
- Support year-end audits and financial statement production.
- Oversee fund models covering valuations, liquidity management, performance fee calculations and operational expenditure.
- Coordinate with tax advisers and service providers to support tax reporting obligations.
Fund Lifecycle Management
- Oversee all operational aspects of funds from launch and structuring through to ongoing management and eventual wind-down.
- Support the development of scalable operating models across multiple jurisdictions and product structures.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure operational readiness for new fund launches.
- Maintain oversight of governance frameworks, including boards, AIFMs, depositaries and other regulated entities.
- Ensure operational risks are identified, monitored and effectively managed throughout the fund lifecycle.
Service Provider Management
- Lead relationships with administrators, custodians, auditors, tax advisers and other strategic service providers.
- Oversee service provider selection, onboarding, governance and performance management.
- Drive service quality improvements while maintaining commercial discipline and cost efficiency.
- Act as a senior escalation point for operational and financial issues affecting funds or investors.
Regulatory, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure appropriate oversight of regulatory and reporting obligations across fund structures.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to support requirements including Annex IV, PRIIPs/KIDs, tax reporting and other jurisdictional obligations.
- Maintain robust governance, controls and documentation standards across the platform.
- Promote a culture of strong risk awareness, operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement across fund operations, reporting and controls.
- Design scalable operating models that support business growth and product expansion.
- Champion the adoption of technology, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Partner with technology teams to develop data-driven processes, reporting capabilities and operational intelligence.
- Ensure procedures, controls and operating documentation remain current, robust and fit for scale.
Experience & Qualifications
- 15+ years' experience within fund operations, fund control, fund accounting, fund administration or related alternatives environments.
- Experience working within an investment bank, leading private markets firm, alternative asset manager or top-tier General Partner.
- Experience with Cayman-domiciled structures, including master-feeder funds, SPCs, co-investment vehicles and other alternative investment structures.
- Strong knowledge of Luxembourg fund structures, including RAIFs, SIFs, SICAVs and related vehicles.
- Proven experience operating as a Fund Controller or in a senior fund accounting leadership role.
- Deep understanding of private markets fund structures and lifecycle management.
- Demonstrable experience overseeing third-party administrators and service providers.
- Strong financial reporting, governance and operational risk management capabilities.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder environments across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent commercial judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship management abilities.
- Experience with structured products, repackaging vehicles and complex investment structures.
- Experience working with private credit, hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure or other illiquid asset classes.
- Track record of implementing operational transformation, technology initiatives or AI-driven process improvements.
- Project management and large-scale platform implementation experience.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
