Job summary

The School Food Company LTD is seeking a Full Time Catering Assistant in Midleton to prepare fresh meals, cook from scratch, and serve lunches on-site in a school setting.

The role involves kitchen duties, flexible hours 8:00am–3:00pm, HACCP hygiene, Garda Vetting and Child Protection training. Since 2011, The School Food Company been dedicated to serving fresh, healthy lunches that are cooked daily onsite in our kitchens which we install in schools.

Location: Gaelscoil Mhainistir na Corann. Contract: Full-Time (32.5 hours/week) Schedule: Monday to Friday.

To ensure you love this job, we want to be 100% transparent about what it involves:

• This is a Cooking Role: You won’t just be serving. You will be peeling, chopping, prepping, and cooking ingredients from scratch every day. (We do not deal with raw meat)
• Flexibility is Key: Because of the rotating schedule, this role is not suitable for those in part-time education or with fixed commitments on specific weekdays.

What You Will Be Doing

• Cooking from Scratch: preparing fresh, healthy meals daily in our onsite kitchens.
• Kitchen Management: Assisting with the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Service: Delivering the lunches cooked fresh onsite to classrooms. End of day clean down.
• Safety First: Maintaining high standards of HACCP food safety and hygiene.

The Schedule

• Hours: Approx. 8:00 am – 3.00pm. Ability to start at 7.30am an advantage.
• Roster: Issued one week in advance.
• Rotation: Monday to Friday.

Requirements
