Job summary

Iambic Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking an engineer to own and evolve a secure, cloud-based web app that scientists use to interact with our ML-driven drug-discovery platform.

You will build features end-to-end across the UI, API layer, and service layer, ensuring the web surface remains a thin, secure adapter over shared services. You’ll work with chemists and biologists, design usable interfaces for a technical audience, and help with onboarding materials and in-product guidance.

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack Python experience with production apps.
• Experience rendering server UI using HTMX.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar backend services.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Ability to design usable interfaces for scientists.
• Familiarity with web security basics (authn/authz).
• Comfort with containerization and CI/CD.
• Strong written communication and distributed teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve a Python web app, API, and workflows.
• Work across stack: HTMX UIs, FastAPI route handlers, service layer.
• Collaborate with chemists and biologists to gather requirements.
• Design user-friendly interfaces for non-engineers; contribute docs.
• Keep web layer as a thin contract over services; avoid business logic.
• Enforce authorization and surface safe error states.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and documentation.
