Job summary

MCO (MyComplianceOffice) in Dublin is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, deploy and test POCs and first-of-a-kind solutions for our lab products. You will work with AI technology as part of the toolkit and collaborate with architecture, engineering and product teams.

Job description

This is a key role within the MCO labs teams. The role is responsible for the implementation of technology proofs of concept and first of a kind new products.

In this position, you will design, build, deploy and test software, using the best tools and technologies in the market. You’ll be challenged to do things you’ve never done before, building solutions to problems that appear impossible to solve (if they turn out to be impossible, identifying and highlighting this in a timely manner will be key). Working closely with the architecture, engineering and product management teams to ensure solutions match future needs, and working within the constraints of our business and available technology.

In this role, you will be part of our MCO Labs teams based in Dublin, working with a small, highly talented and driven group to build the POCs and first of a kind solutions that will shape the future direction of the MCO product technology. AI technology will form a key part of your toolkit, both for building solutions and powering them.

This a hybrid role, you should expect to spend 2 days a week in the MCO offices in Dublin city centre.

Responsibilities

• Builds complete solutions, quickly and robustly, from the UX to the deployment automation.
• Suggests short- and long-term solutions.
• Participate and lead software design meetings and analyse needs to determine technical requirements.
• Collaborates with team members to build great solutions.
• Tests, debug, analyse, and fixes application problems/issues. Works closely with stakeholders to fix issues quickly.
• Researches and remains informed of new technology and development tools.

About you

You will be an experienced technologist, with proven experience designing and implementing software. You’ll been passionate about building new things and exploring the latest technology. You will have experience with multiple technologies and/or IaaS/PaaS cloud vendors. Having spent 3-5 years working as a software engineer, you’ll be skilled in building great solutions and getting them into the hands of users.

Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years as a software engineer
• A degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent by experience
• Must have strong practical experience of designing and implementing business application solutions
• Must have Angular UI, Python and Java experience
• Must have experience developing with relational database
• Must have designed, built & deployed an application to AWS
• Must have experience with infrastructure as code tooling/solutions
• A self-starter, with a passion for technology and the drive to share your knowledge with the wider team
• Ideally with experience of Terraform
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to share technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Ideally have Oracle database experience
