Job summary

MCO is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the MCO Labs in Dublin. You will design, build, deploy and test cloud-native backend services using Python and AWS, delivering POCs and first-of-a-kind solutions.

You will work closely with architecture, engineering and product management teams to ensure solutions meet future needs, while following IaC, CI/CD, security and cost optimisation practices. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in Dublin offices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands-on AWS cloud engineering.
• 3+ years backend development with Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• 3+ years designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Strong understanding of AWS architecture and best practices.
• Hands-on AWS Lambda and API Gateway experience.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and rapidly build cloud-native backend solutions.
• Deploy and test solutions, taking them from prototype to operability.
• Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform).
• Design CI/CD pipelines for automated delivery and security checks.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering and product teams.
