Job summary

Hamilton Re Bermuda is seeking a seasoned FP&A business partner to collaborate with underwriting and finance leaders in Bermuda, driving the ongoing strategic and detailed planning cycle. You will lead continuous forecasting, review results, and prepare quarterly commentary for senior management, while guiding a small team of two FP&A professionals.

Qualifications

Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA with 5+ years post qualified experience.
Strong analytical capabilities with FP&A background.
Ability to engage autonomously with senior stakeholders.
Re/insurance industry experience preferred; Bermuda market knowledge desirable.
Proficiency in IBM Planning Analytics and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Act as FP&A partner to underwriting and finance leaders in Bermuda.
Lead planning cycle including strategic and detailed forecasts.
Analyze income statement and balance sheet variances.
Prepare quarterly commentary and presentations for senior management.
Develop global MI reports and dashboards.
Coach and develop a small FP&A team.
Challenge analyses for quality and consistency.
Support CEO/CFO with strategic modelling and reports.
Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes using IBM Planning Analytics.
Occasional business travel as required.

Job description

Act as the key FP&A business partner to underwriting and finance leaders in Bermuda
Drive the ongoing strategic and detailed planning cycle for Hamilton Re Bermuda
Perform continuous incremental income statement and balance sheet forecasting based on business drivers and trends
Review Hamilton Re Bermuda financial results versus expectations, isolate key trends and analyze variances
Complete quarterly commentary and presentations for senior management
Assist with production and creation of global MI reports
Lead, coach and develop a team of two FP&A professionals
Review and challenge team-produced analyses, forecasts and management information for quality and consistency
Provide ad hoc project support to the Hamilton Re Bermuda CEO, CFO and wider management team, including strategic modelling, bespoke slide decks and report composition and presentation
Engage in continuous improvement of the FP&A function through IBM Planning Analytics

Requirements

Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA with 5+ years post qualified experience
Relevant experience in a similar FP&A role or a background demonstrating a strong analytical propensity
Ability to engage autonomously with senior stakeholders
(Re)Insurance company experience is strongly preferred
Experience of the Bermuda insurance market desirable
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead through influence and build effective relationships across underwriting, finance and executive teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities through both direct execution and delegation to team members
Ability to work in an organization with geographically dispersed teams and a complex environment
High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills
Organised with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
Team player who will collaborate within the wider FP&A and global finance team
Business travel is required
