Job summary

SimoTech in Cork is seeking an Automation Engineer to support a global biopharma client onsite. You will join the embedded automation team, develop and test DCS configurations, and contribute to commissioning and qualification activities across production and utilities.

The role focuses on Foxboro I/A Series platforms, with opportunities to expand expertise and advance within a forward-thinking organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, information systems, computer science or life sciences.
• 3-5 years' hands-on experience with Foxboro I/A Series or equivalent DCS platform.
• Familiarity with GMP/GxP change control and documentation standards.

SimoTech are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team, supporting a global pharmaceutical client of ours, onsite in their large Cork campus, which includes multiple high-technology manufacturing platforms.

You will join our embedded team working on automation projects across production and utilities. As part of our embedded automation team, you will contribute to the delivery of strategic automation project. You'll work alongside experienced engineering professionals, gain exposure to industry-leading technologies, and play a critical role in projects that directly impact manufacturing performance.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life Sciences.
• 3-5 years' hands-on experience with Foxboro I/A Series (or equivalent DCS platform), including exposure to HLBL configuration and testing
• Working knowledge of control system testing methodologies
• Familiarity with GMP/GxP change control and documentation standards in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Understanding of basic P&ID and control narrative interpretation
• Ability to work within a team under the direction of a Foxboro Lead Engineer
• Pharmaceutical or other regulated industry experience desirable but not essential
