Job summary

BnM is seeking a Forward Trading Lead to shape and deliver its Irish power hedging strategy within SEM and forward markets. The role combines market expertise with commercial and analytical acumen to optimise portfolio performance and manage market risk.

The ideal candidate will lead market analysis, price forecasting, trade risk management and regulatory compliance, driving improvements across trading processes and reporting to support growth of BnM's renewable portfolio.

Qualifications

• Honours degree (NFQ 8) in a relevant subject.
• At least five years' experience in power trading, forward hedging or energy analysis.
• Strong knowledge of SEM/I-SEM, EMIR and REMIT obligations.
• Experience developing price forecasts, market models and scenarios.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a trading team; stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Forward Trading team to develop hedging strategies and optimise hedge volumes.
• Own the Energy Trade Risk Management framework including data quality and onboarding.
• Ensure EMIR and REMIT compliance and regulatory reporting readiness.
• Lead market analysis and price forecasting; produce scenarios and trading recommendations.
• Monitor SEM developments; advise on trading strategy, controls and systems changes.
• Develop, validate and govern Plexos models for I-SEM and GB pricing.
• Lead outage/capacity-market analysis and secondary trading strategy.
• Co-operate on health, safety and welfare; promote safe work practices.
• Coach a team of three; set objectives and drive performance and knowledge sharing.
