Job summary

BnM invites applications for a Policy/Regulation Graduate to support policy analysis and advisory work on the regulatory and legislative framework for the Irish energy market. Qualifications

• Third level degree (min 2:1) in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Experience with SQL and Python is desirable; proficiency in MS Office is expected.

• Project Development Support
• Deliver regulatory services to the commercial, development and operations teams to support the commercialisation and operation of the renewable energy portfolio
• Horizon Scanning and Market Analysis
• Research policy issues and identification of energy trends, maintaining awareness of policy developments and best practice within the energy industry both in Ireland and internationally
• Policy Development and responses to regulatory consultations
• Support the business units risk champion to develop documentation in compliance with risk policy; contribute to materials for risk governance meetings
• Stakeholder Management with internal colleagues; work with cross-functional teams including planning, trading and development

BnM has a large landbank and a diverse portfolio of projects in its development pipeline, including onshore wind, solar, energy storage, thermal generation, and emerging technologies designed to address the evolving needs of the energy system.

As a Policy/Regulation Graduate, you will support the policy and regulation team in the provision of a policy analysis and advice on the regulatory and legislative framework for the Irish energy market to support the delivery of BnM strategic objectives. You will gain in depth knowledge of business operation by supporting the administration of the risk management process for operations and commercial development.

The Role:

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

• Project Development Support
• Support the Policy and Regulation team in the delivery of regulatory services to the commercial, development and operations team to support the commercialisation and operation of the renewable energy portfolio.
• Horizon Scanning and Market Analysis
• Researching policy issues and identification of energy trends, maintaining an awareness of policy developments and best practice within the energy industry both in Ireland and internationally.
• Policy Development
• Support the development of responses to regulatory and policy consultations. Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand business need and ensure these are communicated in consultation responses.
• Support the business units risk champion to develop documentation in compliance with risk policy. Contribute to the preparation of materials for risk governance meetings as required.
• Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal colleagues. Work closely with cross-functional teams as needed, including planning, trading and development to align commercial strategies with overall business objectives.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:

• Third level degree (min 2:1 classification) in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools or visualisation software is an advantage.
• Experience in SQL, Python is desirable.
