Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to actively respond to live fraud and abuse incidents, investigate high-risk activity, and remediate threats across the payments ecosystem. You will partner with merchants to improve security posture and protect accounts.

The role requires deep expertise in incident response, fraud mitigation, and security engineering, with strong Python/SQL skills and experience with threat intelligence sharing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading security or fraud incident response.
• Experience with incident response investigations and forging remediation playbooks.
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL; familiarity with other programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Respond to live fraud and abuse incidents as a Forward Deployed Security Engineer and mitigate security risks across the ecosystem.
• Investigate and remediate urgent fraud incidents using FT3 detection and signals enrichment.
• Analyze high-risk accounts to identify fraudulent merchants, card testing, and account takeovers.
• Develop incident response strategies, runbooks, and capabilities to improve detection and prevention.
• Serve as a liaison for merchants, legal teams, and threat intelligence communities.
