Job summary

The Tower Hotel Waterford is seeking experienced Food & Beverage Assistants to join our Bar Team. You will provide warm hospitality and deliver bar lunch and dinner service to high standards, while supporting weddings, private functions and corporate events.

Flexibility to work midweek and weekends, including late finishes, is required. The role emphasizes strong product knowledge, attentiveness to allergens, and maintaining impeccable hygiene across bar areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year's experience in a similar bar or food & beverage role.
• Experience in high-volume bar service and functions/events is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm and friendly welcome to guests in the bar and event spaces.
• Deliver professional bar lunch and dinner service to 4* standards.
• Support weddings, private functions, corporate events and viewing appointments.
• Ensure bar areas are immaculate before, during and after service.
• Have strong knowledge of menus, cocktails, beverages, wines and pricing.
• Take orders promptly and accurately with allergen/diet awareness.
• Recommend and upsell food and beverages to enhance the guest experience.
• Ensure glassware and tableware are polished and presentation-ready.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
• Work as part of the bar team and wider hotel team.
• Ensure mise en place is prepared for the next shift.
• Address guest queries and complaints professionally, escalating when required.

This role will involve bar lunch and dinner service, functions and events, and requires flexibility to work midweek and weekends, including late finishes.

The Role:

• Provide a warm and friendly welcome to all guests in the bar and event spaces.
• Deliver professional bar lunch and dinner service to 4* standards.
• Support and service weddings, private functions, corporate events and viewing appointments.
• Ensure all bar areas are immaculate before, during and after service.
• Have strong product knowledge of menus, cocktails, beverages, wines and pricing.
• Take orders promptly and accurately, ensuring full awareness of allergens and dietary requirements.
• Recommend and upsell food and beverages to enhance the guest experience and promote sales.
• Ensure all glassware and tableware is polished and presentation-ready.

• Ensure adequate stock and mise en place is prepared and left for the next shift.

This role requires flexibility and the ability to work late finishes, particularly during busy service periods and events.
